The Guest Meal Swipe Donation Program is designed to mitigate food insecurity on Rice’s campus by providing access to hot meals via the Residential College Serveries. This program is a collaborative effort between the Student Association, Housing and Dining, Student Success Initiatives, and the Dean of Undergraduates Division.
Food insecurity has risen significantly, especially among college students. This year, Covid-19 has dramatically changed students' access to necessities like food and healthcare. As a result, the Guest Meal Swipe Donation Program is even more important than it has been in the past. This program presents a Covid-19 safe option for getting food to people who need it.
As part of this program, students with a 20 meal-per-week plan may donate between one and five of their guest meal swipes to off-campus students who may be experiencing food insecurity. To donate your guest meal swipes, please see the Swipe Donation Form. This form is live for FALL 2021 beginning Wednesday, September 1 through Friday, September 10.
Undergraduate students with demonstrated need, who do not currently have an on-campus meal plan, can request to be considered for the guest swipe program. To request meal swipes, please complete the Swipe Request Form that is set to open on Monday, September 6. Please note, you must be logged into your Rice Google account to access the form. Requests for the FALL 2021 semester should be submitted no later than September 10.
