The Guest Meal Swipe Donation Program is designed to mitigate food insecurity on Rice’s campus by providing access to hot meals via the Residential College Serveries. This program is a collaborative effort between the Student Association, Housing and Dining, Student Success Initiatives, and the Dean of Undergraduates Division.
Food insecurity has risen significantly, especially among college students. Covid-19 dramatically changed students' access to necessities like food and healthcare. As a result, the Guest Meal Swipe Donation Program is even more important than it has been in the past.
To donate guest meal swipes:
As part of this program, students with a 20 meal-per-week plan may donate between one and 20 of their guest meal swipes to off-campus students who may be experiencing food insecurity. To donate your guest meal swipes, please see the Swipe Donation Form. This form will open on August 19 and close September 2 for the fall 2024 semester.
To request guest meal swipes:
Undergraduate students with demonstrated need, who do not currently have an on-campus meal plan, can request to be considered for the guest swipe program. To request meal swipes, please complete the Swipe Request Form.
This form will close September 2 for the fall 2024 semester. Recipients of the meal swipe donations will not see a change in their account until they are notified via email. Please note, you must be logged into your Rice Google account to access the form.
If you miss either deadline for donations or requests, please look for the forms in early weeks of the following semester. We also invite you to use the Pantry.
