To The Matriculating Class of 2023:
Congratulations on your acceptance to Rice! We're so excited to welcome you and the rest of the matriculating class of 2023, and we can't wait to see the fantastic things you'll achieve during your years at Rice.
Your Rice experience begins in January with orientation. The purpose of exposure is to get you registered for classes and introduce you to Rice's academic requirements and opportunities. The second purpose is to introduce you to Rice's policies, resources, and values, as well as your residential college's tradition, culture, and community.
One of the greatest strengths of our new student programs is that there are upperclassmen around to provide insight, perspective, and planning throughout orientation. Peer Academic Advisors provide crucial academic assistance during course registration. Your Orientation Advisors help describe social life at Ric ands assist with course registration. Finally, your Orientation Student Directors have worked with various departments around campus to plan the best possible orientation for you.
There's so much more to our program than can be explained in a few brief paragraphs, so please don't hesitate to reach us at oweek@rice.edu if you have any questions.
We're excited to see you!
Sincerely,
Mary-Gwen Milburn and Maddie Salinas
