What is something you’re proud of this year?

I am proud of my advocacy, contributing to three bills that are now effective in California in 2026, while successfully transitioning into college and balancing academics, leadership, and advocacy.

What advice would you give to your freshman self?

It’s okay to feel overwhelmed by classes, resources, and student organizations. Take everything one day at a time because there is so much time, and enjoy the journey.

How have you utilized the SSI office this year? How has SSI been beneficial for you this year?

SSI has been an integral part of my freshman academic journey. I scheduled my first meeting with Zhenzhen Zhao during my very first week of classes, and since then, I have continued meeting regularly with my SSI Advisor Zhenzhen. My SSI Advisor Zhenzhen has helped me study more efficiently, connect with my professors, navigate AOP, and connect with other campus offices, such as OSAUS. I honestly wouldn’t be where I am today without the support of SSI.

Any advice for other students?
