What is something you’re proud of this year?
Something I am proud of this year is pursuing my project “Birthing Justice” with my good friends, with the support of Rice’s Rich Family Endowment. It took a lot of effort to bring together, so I am grateful to have the opportunity to develop it.
What advice would you give to your freshman self?
One thing I would tell my freshman self is to relax; regret and stress are wasted emotions. I would also tell her to sleep more and study outside of her dorm.
How have you utilized the SSI office this year? How has SSI been beneficial for you this year?
SSI office has provided me the guidance I have been wishing for since I got to Rice. Being the first in my family to attend college, I genuinely felt confused and anxious for so long. But SSI provided me with great care, resources, and advice that will sustain me for the rest of my academic career. Miti has specifically been a great help to me; I am completely grateful for her guidance.
Any advice for other students?
I’d advise other students to seek guidance and get their questions answered as soon as possible; there should be no shame in using all that Rice has to offer to better their experience.
