What is something you’re proud of this year?

I am proud of my overall growth this year, in regard to my mental and physical health, academics, and general life skills. As a very stubborn and diligent person, breaking habits and changing my mindset was challenging, but I have gradually overcome a very polarized view of myself and the world.

What advice would you give to your freshman self?

Stay true to your values and introspect on what matters most to you. You can still be a good, well-intentioned person and say 'no' to others to prioritize your well-being.

How have you utilized the SSI office this year? How has SSI been beneficial for you this year?

The SSI office has connected me to amazing resources that I otherwise would not have contacted on my own. SSI has also played a crucial role in addressing unresolved issues, as well as providing guidance to manage multiple aspects of my health, finances, academics, and social life.

Any advice for other students?

While attending a prestigious university, we may feel an obligation to be incessantly busy, but being constantly occupied does not always equate to productivity. Resting is just as important as working and it will be valuable in the long-run.

Although the key to being successful may differ for each person, the key to failure is attempting to please everyone.
